PRIVACY

What Engel Care keeps, and what it does not

This page is for families and for the Google Play and Apple App Store listings. Engel Care is household software. It is not a clinic and it is not HIPAA-certified.

Who we are

Engel Care is a product of Engel AI Labs. The app has two seats: a caregiver phone and an aging-adult phone or tablet.

What stays on your phones and on the household server

Check-ins, fridge notes, the household calendar, shared talk memory, and the household code stay in a sealed household file. On home Wi-Fi that file can live on the family’s always-on box (for Engel AI Labs test houses, a Dell server). The household code is told in person. It is not emailed and it is not shown on this website.

What a family login stores

If you create a family username and password, we store the username, a display name, and a password hash. We cannot read your password. We may store a wrapped copy of the household code that only your password can open. We do not store your PIN.

What Talk sends to Grok

If you use Talk with Engel, the words you type or say in that conversation go over HTTPS to Grok so Engel can answer. Notes, the PIN, and the household code are not sent as the household file. If Grok is offline, a short voice on the phone answers instead. Talk is not a doctor and it does not call 911.

What we do not collect

Other families

Each family login and each household code is separate. Another caregiver who downloads the same app cannot see your people.

Delete

You can delete a family login in the caregiver app or on the delete account page. That removes the cloud login and sealed packet we hold. Notes already on a phone stay until that phone is wiped or the app is cleared.

Children

Engel Care is for adult family caregivers and aging adults. It is not directed at children under 13.
